Pooja is conducted on the day of chotti holi or holika dahan. Holika Dahan arrangements starts a few day before the day of festival. People start collecting wood. For bonfire that occurs a day before the Holi festival marking the victory of good over evil.There are lots of Legends related to it. Here is the Holi Pooja Process:

1. On the day of vasant panchmi, a log of timber is kept at a popular position.

2. There is no fix place for pooja and can be conducted at any position.

3. People add some more logs and branches of trees so that it is easily combustible.

 4. And on the top of these piled up logs they place an efiigy of Prahlad which is non flamable And Holika which is flammable.

5. On the eve of Holi, the wood logs and effigies are burnt and people chant Rakshoghna Mantras of the Rig Veda.

6. On the next day, people collect the left over ashes as these ashes are considered as sacred.
